XM Cashback FAQ — How XM Cashback Works, in Short Answers

Short answer: XM cashback (also called a rebate) is part of the commission XM pays to a partner, returned to you for every lot you trade. Open your XM account with the official XM partner code CBT90, trade as usual, and XM credits a fixed amount per closed lot to your own MyWallet the next day — for example $9.00 per lot of Gold on a Standard account. Your spreads and trading conditions do not change. The short answers below link to a detailed page for each topic.

The basics: what XM cashback is

What is XM cashback?

A fixed amount of money returned to you for each lot you close on an XM account opened under a partner code. It lowers your trading cost per lot. It is not a bonus and not a profit. The full mechanism is in XM cashback explained.

Is a rebate the same as cashback?

Yes. "Cashback", "rebate" and "backcom" all describe the same thing. Terms such as IB, introducer and partner commission are defined in the XM cashback glossary.

Where does the money come from?

From XM's partner programme. XM pays a commission to the partner an account is registered under. CashBackXM, an official XM partner, returns part of that commission to you. It is not taken from your trading account.

Every XM cashback service works through this partner programme. How a cashback service run by a team differs from a personal IB is explained in XM IB vs cashback service.

What is CBT90?

CBT90 is CashBackXM's official XM partner code. You enter it once, in the "Partner Code" field of XM's own account opening form. Where to find the field: XM partner code CBT90.

Is this the same as XM's own Unlimited Cashback promotion?

No. XM runs its own cashback promotions with their own terms and dates (for example, the round from 22 Sep to 20 Oct 2026). Partner cashback is a separate arrangement that runs for the life of the account. For that promotion, read XM's terms and our promotion page.

Is it safe and allowed?

Is XM cashback legit?

Yes, when XM itself credits it to your own MyWallet, as it does with CBT90. We never hold your funds. The partner code field is a standard part of XM's account form. The full checklist is in Is XM cashback legit?

Does cashback change my spread or trading conditions?

No. Spreads, leverage and execution are the same as for any XM client on the same account type. The cashback comes from the partner's side. XM's costs are explained in XM fees and spreads.

Do you need my XM login?

No. Never give your XM login or password to any cashback provider. A partner code needs none of it.

How much cashback do you get per lot?

Cashback is a fixed dollar amount per lot of closed volume. Rates with code CBT90:

InstrumentStandard accountUltra Low account (#)
GOLD / XAUUSD$9.00$3.70
BTCUSD$10.60$4.20
GBPUSD$5.30$2.70
EURUSD$4.80$1.80
USDJPY$4.80$1.60

Every instrument is on the full rates table. Detail by market: Gold · EURUSD · Forex pairs ($4.80–$6.90 on Standard) · Bitcoin.

Standard or Ultra Low — which earns more?

Standard pays more cashback per lot. Ultra Low has tighter spreads and a lower rate. Neither charges a trading commission per lot; your cost is in the spread. Compare both in Standard vs Ultra Low cashback.

What about Micro and other account types?

A Micro account uses the Standard rate table. For Ultra Low Micro or Shares accounts, check the rates table or ask us before you trade. XM Global does not offer a Zero account. All types: XM account types and cashback.

What does that look like over a month?

20 lots of Gold on a Standard account: 20 × $9.00 = $180. The same 20 lots on Ultra Low: 20 × $3.70 = $74. This illustrates how volume adds up; it is not a forecast. Try your own numbers in the cashback calculator.

When and how is it paid?

When is cashback paid?

It is counted when each trade closes and credited to your XM MyWallet the next day. There is nothing to claim, and it runs for the life of the account.

Can I withdraw it?

Yes. It is ordinary MyWallet balance. You can withdraw it with XM's usual methods or transfer it to a trading account. Step by step: XM cashback in MyWallet. Methods and times vary by country — see XM deposit and withdrawal.

Is there a minimum lot or a cap?

No minimum and no cap. Cashback starts at 0.01 lot — $0.09 for 0.01 lot of Gold on Standard. See XM lot size explained.

Do losing trades earn cashback?

Yes. Cashback is based on closed volume, win or lose.

What does not earn cashback?

Under XM's partner terms, these trades create no partner commission, so there is no cashback on them:

Can I scalp or use an EA?

Yes, but scalps closed within 3 minutes earn no cashback. Under XM's partner terms, scalping with Expert Advisors is allowed if it is not churning. Details: XM scalping cashback · XM EA cashback.

Does an XM bonus affect my cashback?

It can. Under XM's partner terms, when part of a trade's margin is funded by bonus credit, the cashback is reduced in proportion. See XM bonus vs cashback.

Do MT4/MT5 or leverage change the rate?

No. Under XM's partner terms, the commission depends on the instrument and the account type. Leverage changes the margin you need, not the lot size, so the same lot earns the same cashback. See XM MT4 vs MT5 and XM leverage.

XM cashback — the 7 questions asked most

How does XM cashback work?

You open an XM account with a partner code such as CBT90. XM pays the partner a commission on your closed trades, and part of it is returned to you as a fixed amount per lot, credited to your XM MyWallet the next day. Your spreads and trading conditions do not change.

How much XM cashback do I get per lot?

With code CBT90 on a Standard account: $9.00 per lot of Gold, $10.60 on BTCUSD, $4.80 on EURUSD and $5.30 on GBPUSD. Ultra Low accounts earn less per lot, for example $3.70 on Gold. Cashback starts at 0.01 lot with no cap.

Can I get cashback on my existing XM account?

In almost every case, no. XM links an account to a partner when it is opened, so the code usually cannot be added later. Ask XM support about your specific account.

Is CashBackXM an IB?

Technically, every XM cashback service, including CashBackXM, works through XM's partner programme (XM calls the partner an Introducer; traders often say IB), and that is where the cashback comes from. The difference is how we run it: CashBackXM is a cashback service run by a team, our rates are published per instrument and are the same for every client, and XM credits the cashback to your own MyWallet the next day. So CashBackXM is an official XM partner with code CBT90, but not a personal IB.
