Is XM Cashback Legit? How It Works, Why XM Allows It, and What to Check

Short answer: yes — when it is done the way XM's own partner programme is designed. XM pays a commission to the partner whose code an account was opened under; a cashback provider returns part of that commission to the trader. With official XM partner code CBT90 the cashback is credited by XM itself into your own MyWallet, your trading conditions are unchanged, and nobody but you ever touches your funds. What is not legitimate are providers that ask for your XM login, pay from their own wallet on their own terms, or promise rates they cannot show you in writing. The checklist below separates the two.

Where the cashback money actually comes from

Every XM trade carries a spread. When a trading account is registered under a partner code, XM pays the partner a commission out of that spread — this is XM's partner (affiliate/IB) programme, publicly documented on XM's partners site. A cashback provider is simply a partner that gives most of that commission back to the trader instead of keeping it. On a Standard account that works out at $9.00 per lot on Gold, $10.60 on BTCUSD and $4.80–$6.90 on the major Forex pairs with code CBT90.

Three things follow from this:

How CashBackXM pays — and why that is the safe version

Is XM itself legitimate?

Cashback can only be as sound as the broker paying it. XM Group has operated since 2009 and its entities are licensed by financial regulators in the jurisdictions where they operate; the exact regulator and licence for your account depends on the XM entity you register with, and XM publishes the current list on its own regulation page. Check it there rather than on any affiliate site, including this one, and make sure the entity you open with is one that accepts clients from your country. Cashback via a partner code is available on the account types XM offers under that entity; promotions and bonuses are not available under XM's EU entity.

The 7-point checklist for any XM cashback provider

  1. Who credits the money? If it is XM, into your MyWallet, you are safe. If the provider pays from its own wallet or account, you depend on the provider's solvency and honesty every single month.
  2. Is the rate a fixed amount per lot, in writing? "Up to 90%" of an undisclosed number is not a rate. $9.00 per lot of Gold is.
  3. Do they ask for your XM login or a trading account password? Never give it. A partner code needs none of it.
  4. Do they ask you to open the account through a link plus a code, or only through their link? A code you type yourself in XM's own form is transparent; a link-only flow can hide which partner you are really registered under.
  5. Is there a minimum payout, a monthly claim, or a "review period"? Those are mechanisms for not paying. Genuine partner cashback is automatic.
  6. Can you see the payout in your own XM Members Area? If the only place the balance exists is the provider's dashboard, it is not yet your money.
  7. Do they disclose that they are an affiliate? A provider that presents itself as XM or as an "XM office" is misrepresenting the relationship — a partner, even an official one, is not XM itself.

What cashback cannot do

How to verify us before you commit

CashBackXM is an independent cashback service and an official XM partner (code CBT90). We are not XM, we never hold your funds or access your account, and XM credits the cashback directly to your own MyWallet where you can see every payout. Trading Forex and CFDs involves significant risk of loss.

Verify it yourself: 0.01 lot of Gold, one day, $0.09 in your MyWallet.
Open your XM account under official XM partner code CBT90 — $9/lot on Gold, credited by XM, never by us.

Is XM cashback legit? — questions traders ask

Is XM cashback allowed by XM?

Yes. It is built on XM's own partner programme: XM pays a commission to the partner an account is registered under, and a cashback provider returns part of it to the trader. The partner code field is part of XM's standard account opening form, and your trading conditions are unchanged.

Does XM cashback widen my spread or change my conditions?

No. Cashback is funded from the partner commission XM already pays, not by changing your account. Spreads, leverage and execution are the same as for any other XM client on that account type.

Does CashBackXM need my XM login?

No — and you should never give your XM login to any cashback provider. Registering under partner code CBT90 gives the partner a commission report only; we have no access to your account or funds.

How can I check the cashback is real?

Open the account yourself on XM's site or app with code CBT90, trade 0.01 lot of Gold, and check your XM MyWallet history the next day for a $0.09 credit. The payout is made by XM into your own wallet, so it is verifiable without trusting us.

Is CashBackXM part of XM or an XM office?

No. CashBackXM is an independent cashback website and an official XM partner (code CBT90). Being an official partner does not make us XM: we are not an XM office and we do not speak for XM. Any provider presenting itself as XM or an official XM office is misrepresenting the relationship.
