XM Cashback Glossary — Backcom, Rebate, IB and 27 More Terms Explained
Short answer: cashback, rebate and backcom mean the same thing: a fixed amount per lot returned to you from the commission XM pays a partner for your trading. An IB (Introducing Broker) is a partner who refers traders to a broker; XM's agreement calls it an Introducer. CashBackXM is an independent cashback service and an official XM partner with code CBT90. Below are 30 terms you meet around XM cashback, each in one to three sentences.
Cashback, rebate and backcom
Cashback — A fixed amount per lot returned to you for every closed trade, win or lose. It is paid from the partner commission XM pays on your volume, so your spreads stay the same. More: how XM cashback works.
Forex rebate — Another name for cashback: a fixed amount per lot, credited back after the trade closes.
Backcom — Short for "back commission", the word Vietnamese traders use for a rebate. Backcom XM and XM cashback are the same service.
Partner commission — What XM pays a partner for the volume of the clients it referred. It funds every cashback payment.
Trading commission — A fee per trade that the trader pays the broker. XM's Standard, Micro and Ultra Low accounts charge none; the cost is in the spread. The Zero account, which charges one, is not in the XM Global account list.
| "Commission" | Who pays whom | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Partner commission | XM pays the partner, per lot you trade | The source of your cashback |
| Trading commission | The trader pays XM, per trade | None on Standard, Micro and Ultra Low accounts |
Partners and partner codes
IB (Introducing Broker) — A person or company that refers traders to a broker and receives a commission on their volume. A cashback service is an IB that returns part of it to you.
Introducer / affiliate — XM's names for an IB: "Introducer" in its partner agreement, "affiliate" in its partner portal.
Official XM partner — CashBackXM's status: we refer traders under our own XM partner code. We are not XM, an XM office or an XM representative. See is XM cashback legit?
Partner code — The code you enter in the "Have a Partner Code?" field when you open an XM account. Changing it on an existing account is in almost every case not possible — ask XM support (details).
CBT90 — CashBackXM's official XM partner code. Accounts opened with CBT90 get cashback on every closed lot, from 0.01 lot, with no cap.
Trade size and price terms
Lot — The unit of trade size. On a Standard account, 1 lot is 100,000 units of the base currency on Forex and 100 ounces on Gold (XAUUSD). See XM lot size explained.
Mini lot / micro lot — 0.1 lot and 0.01 lot. 0.01 lot, the smallest size, already earns cashback: $0.09 on Gold on a Standard account. A micro lot is a trade size, not XM's Micro account.
Pip — The standard unit of price movement: 0.0001 on most pairs, 0.01 on JPY pairs. On pairs quoted in US dollars, such as EURUSD, 1 pip is worth about $10 per lot.
Spread — The gap between the buy and sell price — the trading cost on Standard, Micro and Ultra Low accounts. Cashback does not change it. See XM fees and spreads.
Swap — An overnight charge or credit for holding a position past the daily rollover. It is separate from spread and cashback.
Closed volume — The total lots of your closed trades — what cashback is counted on. Ten trades of 0.1 lot earn the same as one 1-lot trade: $9.00 on Gold on a Standard account.
XM accounts and your wallet
Standard account — XM's main account type: no trading commission and the higher cashback rate per lot.
Micro account — 1 lot is 1,000 units instead of 100,000. Cashback follows the Standard rate table.
Ultra Low account (# suffix) — Tighter spreads, no trading commission. Symbols end in "#" (GOLD#, EURUSD#) and earn a lower cashback rate. See Standard vs Ultra Low cashback.
Shares account — An XM account for trading shares. Its cashback rates are not on our rates table — ask us.

|---|---|---|
| Standard | GOLD · EURUSD | $9.00 · $4.80 |

Members Area — XM's client portal for accounts, deposits, withdrawals and transfers.
MyWallet — The wallet in your Members Area where XM credits cashback the day after your trades close. Transfer it to a trading account or withdraw it. See XM cashback and MyWallet.
Margin, leverage and bonus
Leverage — Lets you open a position larger than the money you put up. The maximum depends on account, instrument and XM entity. More leverage means more risk; cashback is unchanged. See XM leverage.
Margin — The part of your balance held while a position is open. Higher leverage means less margin for the same position.
Stop-out — The margin level at which the platform starts closing your positions automatically. Check the level for your account in XM's terms.
Bonus margin — Margin funded by an XM trading bonus, not your own money. Under XM's partner terms, cashback is reduced in proportion to the bonus share of the margin. See XM bonus vs cashback.
Trading styles and what does not earn cashback
Scalping — Short-term trading for small price moves. It is allowed, but under XM's partner terms trades lasting 3 minutes or less earn no cashback. XM's client agreement bans "toxic" scalping that exploits price delays. See XM scalping and cashback.
EA (Expert Advisor) — An automated trading program on MT4 or MT5. Under XM's partner terms, EA scalping is allowed if it is not churning; the 3-minute and close-by rules still apply. See XM EA cashback.
Close by — A platform function that closes two opposite positions on one symbol against each other. Under XM's partner terms, "close by" and "multiple close by" closes earn no cashback.
Churning — Excessive trading done mainly to create volume, not for a real trading reason. Under XM's partner terms, churning earns no cashback.
How to get cashback
- Open an XM account with the official XM partner code CBT90. Step-by-step guide →
- Choose Standard for the higher per-lot rate, or Ultra Low for tighter spreads.
- Trade any size from 0.01 lot. Cashback for each closed lot is credited to your MyWallet the next day — there is nothing to claim.
CashBackXM is an independent cashback service and an official XM partner (code CBT90). We are not XM and never hold your funds; XM credits the cashback directly to your own MyWallet. Trading CFDs on leverage carries a high risk of loss. Cashback lowers your cost per lot but does not change the risk of any trade.

XM cashback terms — questions traders ask
What is backcom in forex?
Backcom means "back commission". It is the term Vietnamese traders use for a forex rebate: part of the commission a broker pays a partner, returned to the trader per lot. Backcom XM and XM cashback are the same thing.
What does forex rebate mean?
A forex rebate is a fixed amount per lot returned to you after each trade closes, whether the trade wins or loses. It comes from the commission the broker pays the partner who referred you, so your spreads do not change.
What does IB mean in forex?
IB stands for Introducing Broker: a person or company that refers traders to a broker and receives a commission on their volume. XM calls IBs Introducers or affiliates. A cashback service is an IB that shares that commission with you.
What is the difference between partner commission and trading commission?
Partner commission is what XM pays a partner for your volume; it funds your cashback. Trading commission is a fee you pay XM per trade; XM's Standard, Micro and Ultra Low accounts charge none.
What is the # suffix on XM symbols?
Symbols ending in # (such as GOLD# or EURUSD#) belong to XM's Ultra Low account. They have tighter spreads and a lower cashback rate: $3.70 per lot on GOLD# versus $9.00 on GOLD on a Standard account under CBT90.
Which XM trades do not earn cashback?
Under XM's partner terms: trades lasting 3 minutes or less, positions closed with "close by" or "multiple close by", and churning earn no cashback. If part of the margin came from a bonus, cashback is reduced in proportion.
